Obituary for Roosevelt Robert Boswell

Print
Roosevelt Boswell was born to the parents of Martyn Boswell and Zalonia
Davis. He was blessed to be raised by a loving and caring stepfather, George
Flemming. He also had a brother, James, who loved and protected him. He
enlisted in the air force when he was 18 years old during the Korean War. He
was very proud of his enlistment.
Roosevelt came to California with his parents at the early age of 10 years old.
He attended school in Stockton Unified School District where he was a
recognized athlete in both baseball and basketball. Roosevelt also loved candy
and became known as the candy bandit when he made the front page after
breaking into the old motor movies and making out with sweet treats on
Highway 50.
Roosevelt is survived by his two sons, Martyn aka Scotty Boswell and Dejon
Boswell, two stepsons, Horace aka Andy Anderson and Sean Danmolé, and one
stepdaughter, Stephonie Carper, and several other stepchildren.
He shared a very happy life with his wife and best friend, Carolyn Boswell, who
stayed by his side and he by hers. Carolyn notes her thanks for his unwavering
commitment and support during their marriage. To be absent from the body is
to be present with the Lord. We shall meet on the other side, she says, where we
will watch the 49’ers again.
Roosevelt leaves to mourn his wife, children, a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, family, friends, and sisters and brothers in Christ.
