Obituary for Richard Harold Turpin

Richard Turpin passed away peacefully on August 28. He recently celebrated his 84th birthday.
Richard was a dedicated husband to his first wife, Sylvia, and their children. After Sylvia passed in 2015, Richard took time to reflect. A year later, he met Carolyn Lawrence via the Quail Lakes Orchestra and Stockton Concert Band. They were married in 2017.
Richard taught Engineering at IUPUI and UC Davis, then spent 21 years at University of the Pacific.
Richard's life is celebrated by Carolyn, his children and grandchildren, and Carolyn's children and grandchildren. He was a caring professor. He was an avid musician, photographer, cyclist and tennis/pickleball player. He enjoyed traveling.
A memorial will be held on Sept. 23, 10 a.m. at Morris Chapel, UOP.
