Norma Jean was born on February 21, 1938 to the parentage of the late Artes Ruffin and Lonnie Bolden in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was called home on April 27, 2019. Norma was preceded in death by Daughter Leslie LaTret Ivery -Jones and Sister Dimple Wilson . Norma attended schools in Ponca City Oklahoma, were she graduated from Chrispus Attucks High School in Oklahoma.
She began her relationship with God at a very young age when she was baptized at Martin Temple CME Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Norma, shortly after graduating from high school, moved to Stockton, California and started her family.
She worked at Pacific Gas and Electric Company for thirty eight (38) years where she retired as a supervisor in 2004. An avid speed reader, she was known to read a novel pages 1 to 1000 sometimes 2 novels per day. She later transitioned to the digital world of Facebook and dropped the hard-copies. Norma was a great communicator from politics to sports later into her retirement when she pursued a new career in sports commentating and Uber driver. No one had better not say anything about DeMarcus Cousins her favorite sports athlete. Norma was also known to enjoy a good game of chance at one of her favorite leisure spots Jackson Rancheria.
Norma leaves a legacy here on earth as being a Super-Mom, a “Go-To” sister, Awesome grandmother, and Best friend to all who knew her. She cherished having devoted friendships and always giving enthusiastic and expressing uplifting words. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh, making everyone feel that they were special.
Memories are left to be cherished through: Children; Yhonda Davis, Ashifari Sinada, Phillip Davis of Pasadena, California, Esther Davis; Brother, Hoffman Hoskins of Denver Colorado; Grandchildren, Ashifari Nicole Henry, Ronnie and Randy Jones of Kansas City, Missouri, Geoffrey and Ghana Dunson, Jordan Davis, Kentaley McCurdy of Los Angeles, California, Trenton Davis of Pasadena, California, Rhonda Jones of Lansing, Michigan and eight (8) great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
