Obituary for Marvin Lewis Rivers

Marvin Lewis Rivers was born July 28, 1949, in San Mateo, California, to the marital union of Charles Walter Rivers, Jr. and Rosie Lee Clark. He was a graduate of San Mateo High School in 1968 where he was a talented athlete with his concentration in football and track and field events.

Marvin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Pilgrim Baptist Church of San Mateo, California under the leadership of Reverend W. C. Sample. There, he was an active member of the Youth Choir and the Baptist Youth Union.

After attending College of San Mateo, Marvin worked for the Atkinson Foundation and DHL. He relocated to Stockton, California in 1991. Marvin worked for the Stockton Record, Davey Trees and retired from Kearney’s Metal in 2012. He was a member of Progressive Community Church.

Left to cherish his memories are loved ones, twin brother, Melvin Rivers, sister, Pheon Rivers Davison; loving nephews, Kenneth McCardie, Ashanti Davison, loving nieces, Akilah Davison Ellis and Kilan McCardie. and Devika Rivers, great nieces, Zoe Davison and Leah Ellis, great nephews, Ashanti Davison Jr and Zaden Davison.
