Obituary for Linda Christina Landon (Puga)

Linda Christina Landon beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend 75, of Stockton, passed away peacefully in her home on January 13, 2024.

Linda was born on November 20th 1948 in Pittsburg, CA while passing through the town by chance. She was raised and a life long resident of Stockton. She graduated from Stagg High School in 1966, and after doing her life’s most important and valued work, raising her children, she went on to study at San Joaquin Delta College. Linda worked in HR and payroll for many years at La Salette Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was well liked and known to be strong advocate for her fellow staff members. She retired in 2016.

Throughout her life Linda had many wonderful friends and was active in many sports and activities. She was athletic and enjoyed bowling and softball playing in various leagues over the years. Born and raised in a snow skiing family she was an excellent skier and ran the local ski club for a time. A wordsmith and gifted poet she often wrote her poetry to or about people and things that she held closest to her heart. She enjoyed her daily crossword and sudoku puzzles and was far too proficient to bother using pencil. She was fastidiously organized and was the master of the Excel spreadsheet. Linda was a strong and determined woman and with a very competitive spirit and found her game nights with her girlfriends playing Bunco and Pictionary enjoyable,..more enjoyable if you were on her team…and good. An avid and skilled gardener she took great pride in her home of over 50 years with her beautiful yard and swimming pool serving as the backdrop of many meaningful family celebrations and milestones over the years.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Donald and Beverly DeVolld, brother Ruben Puga, and nephews John Benson Jr. and Ruben Puga. Linda is survived by her 3 children Todd Landon (Nina), Michelle Hayes (Mark), Lisa Sephos, sisters Susan Lynn and Victoria Reynolds. She was the loving grandmother of Austin, Connor, Skylar, Griffin, Cade, Carson, Nikko (Lorna), Steven, Victoria and Madison. Great grandmother to Jude as well as aunt to numerous nieces and nephews who affectionally referred to her as Aunt Lala.
