Lee William Hemminger passed away of natural causes in Stockton on February 16th at the
age of 81. Lee is survived by his two daughters, Peggy Walker and Amy Darrah, and his three
grandchildren, Paige, Douglas and Delia. Lee Hemminger was preceded in death by his wife,
Carol Anne (Reynolds) Hemminger. Lee was born in Boston MA, grew up in Sacramento and
attended the University of Arizona and University of Oregon. He married Carol in 1962. In
1970 they moved to Stockton after Lee got a job with the City of Stockton as an urban planner.
He worked for the city for 25 years prior to retirement. Lee was an avid bicycle rider,
commuting to city hall by bike in all weather. He was a dedicated member of Delta Toast
Masters for almost 50 years. In Toast Masters, Lee enjoyed sharing his knowledge of history,
which was a lifetime passion of his. He traveled with his wife to many historic sights across the
United States. In his later years, Lee enjoyed sitting outside with family on warm Stockton
evenings telling stories and reminiscing. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Women’s
