Jack Larkin Obituary John Larkin (Jack) , 85, of Stockton CA., passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2023, after a Long and hard fought battle to recover from two strokes. Jack was born on September 8th, 1938 to William and Geraldine Larkin in Stockton, CA. After his little sister, Susan, died at the age of 5 from Leukemia, Jack left in his sophomore year in high school in order to stay home on the ranch and help take care of his siblings and farm when his parents were away caring for Susan in San Francisco. He continued to farm the Larkin ranch after his father was devastated after the loss of Susan. Jack continued to farm 70 years. He also worked construction and was an investor in properties he rented and resold. Jack built three houses by himself. Later in life he became a cattleman to his beloved shorthorn cattle in Livermore, CA. Jack was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt he never had. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. Jack was also a passionate truck and tractor collector and restorer. In the winter when farming tasks were completed, he could often be found in his shed working on engines or painting his tractors and trucks. He was also a Truck Driver, hauling his own produce to canneries. Jack loved his dogs and would be with them if he ever stopped to rest. He worked hard and non stop. The only time he did not work was when he took vacations away from the ranch. Anyone who knew Jack could see that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Jack is survived by his wife, Frances Larkin, his two daughters, Shelly Larkin and Loretta Olson, as well as his son-in-law David Olson, his 13 grandchildren, and his 2 great grandchildren.
